Still mapping it out

I'm still in the planning stages, but some you guys's posts have me very intrigued! I cannot wait to see what everyone else came up with for the categories!

Hi Everyone!

My goodness, you all are FAST! For those of you who have not yet completed your boxes (or started) NO WORRIES!! You've got lots of time, your pal doesn't have to receive the box until March 7, so you've got 29 whole days of February to shop :) I'm knitting one of the items for my box, so it won't be ready for a bit.

And a final reminder, if you haven't heard from your pal by now, PLEASE EMAIL ME or POST A COMMENT HERE! (I'd prefer email, but I know there have been many email issues so far, so if you need to comment here, that's OK). If I don't hear from you, I will assume all is well and good. I've been trolling thru everyone's blogs, and I see lots of anonymous comments, so I think, for the most part, everyone is communicating.

I'm going to post the contest on Monday, so be sure to check back. In case you need enticement . . .. the prize is a skein of MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM........... Malabrigo :)

Finally, I love how everyone is using the group blog! My favorite part of swaps is not really getting the package, but getting to know new people, and I feel like everyone posting around here makes it easier to get to know many folks! It makes me happy everyone seems to be having a great time. If you have any feedback for me, please feel free to share. I want this to be a good time for all involved and I want to make it more fun if I can when I do another round (assuming people WANT another round!).

I need to catch up too

I feel like I am way behind too. I have a few things but not the whole list. I get off work at 12:30 PM tomorrow....hopefully I can knock off more of the list.....

Am I behind?

Wow. I just made my first purchase. (Although I have ideas for almost all the categories.)

I can check off something round.

Almost done!!

Thank you to all for posting. I learned from y'all's mistakes. So I bought two of everything. Got two more items before the box gets shipped off to my swap pal.

What If I Steal the "T" for Myself?

This really is the problem with all the delightful goodies not being sent off till mid-February...the "T" I ordered arrived today and I like it soooo much, and it's calling out to me from the drawer where I hid it out of sight; alas, it's one of a kind. But, it was intended specially for my swap pal, and to my swap pal it'll go...

With Apologies

to Yarnmaniac - I believe I've just come up/purchased the best "green" item : )

And my "T" is pretty darned goo too!

I Don't Mean to Brag, But....

I believe I have found the best item for the Green category there is! So hard to keep this one a secret! Wow!

Enjoying your comments

I haven't yet (well only sort of) started shopping.. I've been thinking of some ideas.. but am still mulling around others.. I am loving reading everyones comments and suggestions for the mystery item, and the various 'takes' on the categories... this is already a ton of fun and I've only barely started on my partners package! :-)

Good news, Bad news

In sort of a "every silver lining has a big black cloud" move...
I got most of my swap's stuff last night at my LYS. But I did so because the LYS owner has decided to close her business (for family reasons). So there were some nice sales.
I'm so sad that she's going to be gone.
I'm glad I was able to get cool stuff for my swap pal.

Oh well.

Onto the rest of the list!

Green, T, Round? Maybe a little of all ...

Its amazing how you can go from almost nothing to almost done in the blink of an eye.

Actually I'm not THAT close, but in one trip out (while its 43 degrees and not 10) I was able to satisfy quite a few categories.... and once I got over the "green" hump, it was amazing how much "green" I started to think of.

Happy Spring Thoughts

Item's Question...

I think I found my something green... but before I call it good, whats the concensus (or moderator rule) on if it has to be ALL green. My thing is green and black, but when you see it, all you think it "GREEN!"

What say you?

Is it March yet?

I'm three items shy of a full package and it is killing me to NOT dig in! Can we send early or are we waiting until mid/end of Feb to post?

Checking in!

I'm glad everyone is getting started on their packages and seems to be having a great time :) Just a reminder that you have two more days to make contact with your pal, if you haven't already. To everyone, if you haven't heard from your pal on Feb 1, please drop me a note to let me know and I'll figure out what is going on.

You all are making me step up my game. . . of course since I made up the categories, I've had ideas for a while, but everyone is getting REALLY creative from what I see here and on everyone's blogs. I can't wait to see the packages as they roll out!

I'm going to start the contest next week, and again, if anyone has ideas for the contest, let me know!

Happy Scavenging!

One down, Six to go

I'm so excited, I bought my first goodie for my Spoiled Rotten Scavenger Partner, te he, in the Something Funny category. One down, six to go.

G'Day, Mates

I am currently in Canberra, Australia right now at a graduate student conference...but this Saturday I go to Sydney! Need to get cracking on my scavenger hunt swap...but I am definitely going to make one of my categories complete while I am here! Hmm...might be a bit tricky, but I always carry the list of categories with my in my planner so I am always prepared.

PS. It's HOT here! I should have brought that extra pair of shorts.

Something Funny?

I found something funny--at least I think it's funny! this is the hardest category for me--and something round, something hard, something  "T" (I wonder how many others came up with this for the T category).  I have in mind a delightful item for my "something local," but must find time to pick it up.  I will share my made up category--Something Sparkly.  Originally I had an item in mind for Something Practical, but decided sparkly was preferable to practical, don't you think so?

Still have to mastermind the something green.

I love reading about everyone's progress!

I thought of something T!

Now I've got to customize it to my partner!

Tell me about your "real-life" scavenger hunts! The first I remember was when I was in about the 7th grade. My friend's mom made us a list of stuff to scavenge, such as a 1965 penny, as we went trick-or-treating, because we were getting too old to ask for candy but still didn't want to give it up. A few years later we were freshmen in college and sorority pledges. We had to scavenge things such as a Perkins menu and various stuff from the fraternities on our campus. We accomplished all this. Did you guys? Just wondering...

Scavenging for Swag

I know what I want to get for local (it's also hard and round...), I have ordered a round item, know what I want to get for T, have a funny thing (also round!), deciding which hard thing to get, and have ordered something for the wild card category. Just the green thing left to figure out!

Still looking

I've got my "T" planned, know my something local, and am pretty sure of something round. But I'm still looking and weighing choices for the other categories. I want to both really match my swappee's likes and maybe surprise her a little too.
Fun, fun, fun!

Something hard?

Am I the only one who is stumped on "something hard"?

Need to start shopping

I keep reading about everyone else's shopping adventures. And I've yet to start mine... Guess I better get on that. At least I have access to the LYS's now that I'm back in the city. I think I might have something for the local category. But I'm not sure if it might end up too heavy to ship....

Hope everyone is having a great Monday...
I've got everything covered except for something local. It's frustrating to think I could get everything packed up and shipped off if I could only find that one thing.

On the good side, I found something today that's funny, green, and relates to the letter T. I'm not gonna say what it is, neener neener! The official category will be funny. :)

Successful shopping!

I have found four somethings: round, green, funny, and hard. I have ideas for local, but T is stumping me. I think I'm saving my swapper's choice for last.
This is fun!

It's Monday!

Good Morning Ladies! I have put a small dent in to my purchased items this weekend. I was all over this weekend and eyeballing stuff. I decided my one local thing that applies to knitting will have to be "my something funny". So, I went for the really cool thing something local not knitting related but could surely use while knitting, so we're not at a loss there! Two down and five more to go! Ewww and I all most forgot a something round... I was able to find. So really I am at 3 down and 4 to go. That one I will try not to keep for myself! I thought I better list it and try not to claim it for myself! It was a revelation in her blog that she probably has long forgotten about... How are you all coming along with idea's and purchases?

Something Local ... CHECK!

I took a nice drive yesterday to a little yarn shop down about 20 mins south of where I live. They have some amazing local yarn, and I found something that I know my pal is going to love! Let me tell you, it's going to be hard not to keep it for myself!!!

Mailing Chocolate?

I thought this would be a good place to ask. I always wonder about mailing chocolate. I worry about it melting. Has anyone tried mailing chocolate to swap pal? Does it melt? Are there any chocolate goodies unlikely to melt?

Thanks,
Sally

Making Progress....

Today I ventured out into the cold (-5°F) to start my scavenger hunt. I've found something local. Hint: The company has to do with Lagomorphs and a Geographic feature. I've also picked up something that could be used under the 'something hard' category. Gotta think about that one some more.

Happy Hunting!

Temptation

The temptation to keep what I've gotten for my pal is so hard to resist!

Thus far I've these categories checked off my list:
  • something local (this is going to be difficult o part with - is it bad to have a back-up just in case I can't give this thing away?)
  • something round (in a pinch this could be "something hard" - so far it is staying "round)
  • something green (really fun item - not something that is usually thought of or readily available, I'd say)
  • something that begins with the letter T (happy to say this is something I've made - sort of - and is an inventive use/loose interpretation of the of category)

And, yes I do have other things going on in my life! I just a reeeally good shopper : )

What are folks using as their individual category? Are we permitted to talk about this or is it top secret?

Something round

Based on my swapee's interests I knew exactly what to get for Something Round. My LYS only had three left but that was enough to choose the best one.

My Something Local: Check

I guess I am off to a great start. I got my something local. So, I am checking that off my list! I took a historical tour here before it got cold. We are getting ready to move and I came across the brochure about this tour. It was about a very special place we stopped on our tour. After finding the brochure, I decided to go to this special place and make a purchase. It is a very American thing too.. It is not my preference personally even though it is something I purchase quite often not knowing it was native to my area. I'm quite sure many of you keep it on hand at home. It is something you either like or don't like, yet it has a special place in American history...Most of you have experienced it in your life. I am having so much fun with this. Since, I am new to NC. it is a bit of a learning thing for me about my area. Happy scavenging ladies!

Let the fun begin!

I found out about a couple of local yarn stores near me, so I can't wait to go there and begin my hunt.
I was checking out some of the blogs, and I can't believe how many great patterns are out there! I'm finding out how much fun blogging is, and I'm slowing getting through to reading all the other blogs. There are so many interesting people here!

I bow to the masses!

I was resisting starting a Ravelry group, but due to popular demand, I did just do one! I used two of the buttons that folks created. I hope that is OK! (If not, let me know and I'll remove them). Please just be conscientious of keeping the blog active to (and I will run the contest on the blog). Not everyone is in Ravelry and I want to avoid what happened during SP11 where everything ending up on Ravelry and some people being left out.

I'm happy everyone is having fun so far and I really really can't wait to see all the packages. Everyone is sounding so creative already!!

First Item

Okay, I'll have to admit that I have two items that I picked up last week for the "T". I am already on the hunt for something round. I also have to make a trip to a place way far away from my house (at least a 45 minute drive) for the something local. I can't wait to hunt for the rest of the categories....I sure wish I could show/tell you more but I might give too much away....

First Purchase Today

I just can't wait! I went to the LYS. I just got home. I found something really cool there. That was not yarn, notion, book, pattern or needle, but any crazed knitter would love! It has something totally to do with something people do here at the beach. I have actually seen them in lots of states, but since moving here to the coast of NC everyone except me has one or more that applies to the beach. It is something I swore I would never do or buy.. The ones I purchased today are the same thing but is knit inspired. I can say so far I have never seen these anywhere. They are brand new design. Isn't life funny how knitting can change your mind about something. Yes, I did get one for me too because it was so cool. I want in the worst way to put a picture up. I'm afraid of ruining the surprise though...

Ravelry Users

I was wondering those of you who use Ravelry If you all would list your Ravelry Name/ID you use here in this post under the comments. Mine is TeresaS on Ravelry. I thought It would be nice to have an organized list posted here. I think it could help us with our spoilee's by being able to check them out on Ravelry too. Thanks :)

Buy Yarn & Help Provide Mammograms!

I hope this is an appropriate posting, I don't want to offend anyone. I just found this yarn on sale at the Breast Cancer Site Store. It's $14.80 US for 3 skeins of recycled silk yarn. It's on clearance so I'm not sure how much is left. The best part is that any purchase you make helps fund free mammograms! I'm sure most of us know someone who has been affected by Breast Cancer. This would be a super cool gift to add into your swap package (T is for Save the TaTa's?)

To those of you spoiling someone with a WordPress blog

Just in case it's not intuitive, you CAN leave anonymous comments, even though it asks for name & email. They don't have to be real, you can make up a name and address. For example, I commented on their blogs as 'Hostess' with an email of 'nono@yahoo.com' when I was blog checking. So, don't despair if it looks like you couldn't comment without revealing yourself! Hope everyone is enjoying starting to get to know their partner!

I plan on putting a contest up on the blog in a week or so. The prize will be a very yummy skein of yarn :) If anyone has suggestions for creative contests they've done before (or just an idea) please email me. I haven't settled on what the contest will be yet, so I'm open to new ideas!

Greetings from Anchorage, Alaska

Hi! I received my pal today & I'm excited & ready to begin. It's fun reading about all of the swappers from all over - I know this will be a fun swap. Can't wait to hear what everyone is choosing for the different themes!

Happy Knitting!

Matches are out!

And they're off. . . . .!

As of this posting, I sent everyone out their partner. If you do not have it in your email, make sure you check our spam/junk mail and if it is not there, please email me ASAP and I will try emailing you from a different account.

As I stated in your email, you have just over a week to contact your pal, either by anonymous comment on their blog or via anonymous email. If anyone has not heard from their pal by February 1st, please email me to let me know and we'll figure out if there is a special circumstance. Also, I know we're all excited, but please do give your pal this timeframe to contact you before getting worried! There are some folks on vacation and a few other circumstances that may delay responding.

I am being really particular with the rules here because it is so important to me that everyone have a good partner and we don't have any flakes. Right or wrong, the only thing I have to go by is if you're following the rules as an indicator of you're going to follow through with a package. I did have to remove a couple folks already. After this, it should be all fun moving ahead and putting together packages!

As always, any questions or concerns, please email me!

Wordpress and Bloggers Come here! Please

To the few ladies here who have WP. I was wondering how you add your things to the side bar. Are you self hosted or are you using the regular WP for blogging. I am still new but feel so limited. Thanks :) I also wondering if any of you have switched a WP blog to blogger and was it worth it? Was it easy?

Buttons?

For anyone having problems with buttons, I'll tell you what I did for blogger. I don't know if this helps everyone, but I know a lot of people have blogger so... :)

1) Save the button (to your server) and then upload it to like, flickr or something like that.
2) Go to the picture, and right click on it and select "copy image location"
3) Go to "Customize" and click "add html or code."
4) Type this: (a href="http://knittersscavengerhunt.blogspot.com/") (img src="paste the image location here") (/a) BUT instead of these ( ) use these < >. In every space. Make sense?

Hope this helps some people! :)

Btw, I posted once, I'm Krystal from Ohio, and my blog is Yarn Mafia, check us out! :)

I'm startin' my engine...

Almost time! I'm so psyched to get my partner and start serious looking.
This looks to be an amazing group... from Texas to Michigan, Alaska to Nova Scotia, and Japan too! Wow! Way cool!

I do have one question, if anyone could help point me in the right direction... I tried to add a linkable button using the directions given on the bloggingbasics site, but I just seem to be having no luck!
Help?

Thanks all!

Are we all excited!

I just wanted to check in with everyone. Last time I posted there was not much here. I just wanted to say Hi to everyone who signed up. My name is Teresa. I live in NC about 30 minutes from Atlantic Beach, NC. We moved here about a year ago and we are really enjoying life here. My blog is Yarnoverheels.wordpress.com feel free to check it out. I do have a new free pattern there I just did. I will be adding more in the near future. I have been enjoying your blogs also. Thank you for sharing. I love reading blogs since I am fairly new still at blogging! Feel free to comment and send your friends :) Have a great day!

Greetings from Austin, Texas

I just wanted to say hi, and help out by posting a link to my questionaire.

(edited to fix link)

hello from NC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

looking forward to this great swap!

Hello

Hi to all the Heathers and everyone else! I am finally getting around to introducing myself. I'm Kathy and I live in Houston. I'm looking forward to this--some ideas are already starting to form in my head. Now I just need a partner so I can figure out how to customize them for her.

Updates

So, I know everyone is eager to get started! To this end, I am requesting everyone have their questionnaires up and anonymous posts enabled on the blog by end of day Wednesday, January 23 or else I will need to remove you. If you have any special circumstances that will prohibit this, please email me and we'll work it out. I want everyone to have a great experience with this swap, so I am going to be kind of strict with adhering to the rules. If you are missing your questionnaire or your blog doesn't allow anonymous comments, you either got a blog comment or personal email from the hostess address letting you know. If you've heard nothing, you are all set.

Also, there are a few outstanding group blog invitations. Please make sure you accept them before Wednesday, as well, since thanking on the group blog is also a requirement!

My goal is to get matches out this weekend. I'm recruiting a friend to help so that my partner can be a secret too :)

Finally saying hi

Hi everyone. I'm excited to be a member of this swap! Thanks for having me.

I'm here in Arizona where we've been having a cool winter - and I'm so glad since I really miss cold, Northeast winters! :)

Sunday, January 20, 2008

...so all you need is another Heather

I'm participant #50 -- thanks for saving room for me! And, yes, I'm Heather #5. Sheesh!

We're having below zero (F) degree temperatures here as well in rural southern Michigan. Great knitting weather!

I'm off to fill out my questionnaire. Looking forward to the swap.

Heather P

We're Full!

Hi Everyone! We just hit our 50th participant, so sign ups are now closed! I'm going to continue blog checking, and I should have matches ready early so you can start getting to know your spoilee! Feel free to continue to introduce yourself and browse the participant blogs and look for additional announcements here and via email.

And, just one final reminder, everyone who is on the sidebar was sent an email from me at the hostess address. If you did not receive one, please check your spam filter and enter the email address in your address book. If there is nothing in your spam filter, PLEASE EMAIL ME so I can try contacting you from a different address to ensure you get your match.

Thanks for playing! I can't wait to get started and am glad everyone is so excited!

I don't remember ...

Did I post like I was suppose to or not? I was so excited to join and than chatting with kasiaiscarly, that I don't know if I completed that part. Don't want to be kicked off before we even start. So... happy knitting all =) Karrie

By the by, anyone else from the Lower Eastern area of Michigan?

Hello From New Brunswick

Hi all - I'm Katie (aka Miss Me). I'm really looking forward to this swap - especially the creative thinking part of it!

Hey from Athens, GA

We're shivering from the cold and in anticipation of snow tomorrow! But who cares? I'm in the hunt! Can't wait for this to start.

Administrivia

Hello Again! So there are 5 spots left, so we will likely be wrapping up signups soon. I have begun reviewing blogs to look for questionnaires and also to ensure anonymous posts are an option on your blog. Remember, this is a requirement, as having a secret email address is NOT a requirement. (Side note, at the end of the swap, those of you who do not use a secret email, I'd like feedback if you think it should be a requirement in the future. I know I prefer it to get to know by pal thru correspondence, but maybe that is just me.) If you don't like anonymous comments, you can turn it back off when the swap concludes, but if it is not 'on' by 1/31, I will pull you from the swap. You can add the word verification feature if spam comments is a concern for you.

The questionnaire is not due until the end of the month, but it would be most helpful if you could do them now if you have not yet! Also, it will be helpful to your pal if you link in your sidebar to your questionnaire, especially if you posted it early in January. It will save them a lot of digging when they need to refer to preferences.

Finally, there are a few of you who haven't yet accepted your invitation to the main blog, so I've resent the invites. Please accept, as posting to this blog is also a requirement for thanking your pal here. Like the other requirements, I will drop you if you are not on by 1/31.

OK, Back to the fun :)

HELLO FROM WINTERPEG

No there is no place called Winterpeg. It is the nickename for Winnipeg where I am from. It is a balmy -28C and with the windchill it feels like it is -38C. Not too much relief is in site but then it is January and this is to be expected here. I so would rather be in Florida without boots, scarves, mitts and coats.
Finally I have put my questionnaire up on my blog.
This swap sounds like it is going to be a lot of fun. Not only do I love swaps but I love scavenger hunts too.
I can't wait to find out who my partner is so I can get started hunting for goodies.

Caught Up!

Hello! It's your hostess again. I was out of town and so behind in adding folks. I am all caught up now, though, so if you do not see your blog on the sidebar, it means I don't have a signup email from you! If you thought you signed up, please resend. We have 34 participants, so there is still room!

Also, we had to have a participant drop out because her dear doggie needs some serious medical attention. Almost all of us have pets who are participating, so send positive thoughts and 'woof woofs!' to Cynical Knit Gal & Gracie!

Friendly Hostess Update

Hello Again! It's your hostess just letting you know we are up to 31 swappers. I'm glad so many people are excited about this swap. I really hope it is fun for all! If we reach the sign up cap before sign ups close, I will probably get matches out earlier so you'll have more time to get to know your spoilee! I won't move up the shipping date, though, so don't worry!

As far as my introduction, I'm Carly. I also live in Virginia (there are a lot of us!!). I work as a project manager but also just started going back to school to study interior design. (in fact, I'm procrastinating from doing my first week of homework even as I write!). My blog, appropriately, is Knitting and Sewing and all forms of Procrastination! I'm on Ravelry as kasiaiscarly.

If anyone has comments or suggestions, please feel free to contact me. This is my first time hostessing, so I will do my best!

In addition to introducing yourself here on the blog, if anyone has an Etsy site, or their own website for selling handmade items, please feel free to let us know here. I'll create a sidebar of participants offerings. If you want to offer a discount to participants, that's great, let us know in your post, but it is not required :)

Finally, everyone should have gotten an email response from me saying 'I've got you'. If you did NOT receive anything, PLEASE check your spam filter. If nothing is in spam, please email me to let me know. I'd like to work out any email snafu's now rather than later when I'm distributing matches so that match ups go smoothly.

Now, back to introductions!!

PS - One more thing. Angela made the two buttons on the sidebar. If we have any other creative types who'd like to make one, please email it to me at the hostess email address and I'll add it to the sidebar.

Hey guys!

Hey guys, Krystal from Ohio here, just thought I'd say hello. Really looking forward to this swap! Can't wait to get started, it sounds like a lot of fun! :)

Another Virginian

Hi,Swappers,
My name is Wendy, and I am pleased to hold the top spot on the list for a change! I am from the Northern VA area and have been knitting for 3 years but crocheting for almost 7. This swap sounded like lots of fun so I am glad I got in on it. My blog is here, if you want to take a look. I am yarnmaniac for those of you on Ravelry.

Hailing from the Mountains

Hey all. This is Heather F, or TopHat, or "Teacher!" which is what I am called about 300 times a day.
I'm originally from the Chicago Area (and I miss the Midwest!), but due to school and marriage, I'm currently in Utah for the next two years.
I love love love scavenger hunts! I'm so excited to start this swap! I can't wait to go hunting for everything! Have a beautiful day!

Hajimemashite!

Hajimemashite, or "Pleased to meet you," in Japanese! This is Maria - I am not Japanese but I do study Japanese history. I am from New York City and now in Japan doing research. However, I return to the United States around the same time that the swap closes; Carly was great in letting me in on the fun - thanks again! Looking forward to the swap.

Dogwoods Rule

And another participant from Virginia! My name is Cate & I live and knit in Richmond. This swap has motivated me to begin blogging again. You can find me at Having a Knit Fitt here on Blogger.
Another Hi from Virginia!
I live in the Shenandoah Valley, where I design and teach costuming for Theatre and Dance. I sew for a living and somewhat for a hobby, but I've gotten enamoured with knitting in the last few years. And now I'm picking up spinning too!
This is my first swap and it looks like serious fun!
Got my questionnaire up too.... Dips in the Road of Creativity is a blog I share with my sister. My posts are KathleenC, her's are Caroline. I'm in VA, she's in VT/NH/ME. And I'm older, so I'm always right.

Looking forward to the scavenging!

Hello!

Greetings from Virginia! I'm really excited about this swap and I'm already scheming as to what I'm going to send my pal! I used to love scavenger hunts as a kid, so I'm really looking forward to this!

Hello Everybody!

Tia here! I'm looking forward to a fun, interesting swap. If there's any other Minnesotans here, give a shout out. I live in Minneapolis with my husband and two daughters. I was already out scavenging last night... just *might* have found something I couldn't resist already. :D Happy hunting and crafting all!

Moving along nicely!

Hi Everyone! Signups are coming along nicely. We're about half-way to the limit! Signups are open for a while longer, so don't despair, we'll get going before you know it! If I reach the limit before signups close, I will distribute matches earlier so you can start getting to know your spoilee. Feel free to introduce yourself to the group here on the main blog :) A link to all the swappers is on the sidebar, in REVERSE alphabetical order :) (Can you tell I hated having 'S' as my last name in grade school and always being 2nd to last in line for EVERYTHING!)

Ready to Go!

Hi Everyone, My name is Teresa. I am signed up for the Scavenger Hunt. I'm in North Carolina close to the coast. I have posted the questionaire to my blog at Yarnoverheels.wordpress.com I look forward to playing!
Have a great day!
Teresa

Buttons!

There was a question about grabbing the buttons on the sidebar. I bet there is more than one person who may need the help, so check out this site. If you have specific questions doing it on Blogger, I can help, but I don't use TypePad or WordPress!

We are up to 17 swappers so far :)

The Rules!

Rules aren't always fun, but we have to live by them :)

Here's the guidelines for this swap:

1) You must have a blog to participate, but you will also be invited to post to the swap blog.

2) You must post weekly to your blog.

3) This is a secret swap, so you must allow anonymous posts to your blog. You do not need to have an anonymous email address if you don't want to. However, you may want to consider it if you want to get to know your partner better.

4) You must contact your partner at least once a week thru the swap.

5) The gift for at least one category must be a skein of yarn (quality, please, unless your partner says they love fun fur!).

6) The gift for at least four of the categories must be knitting/fiber related. Soaps/candies/tea or other goodies are welcome, but the bulk of your package should be knitting goodness.

7) Minimum spending is $25 (not including shipping).

8) Sorry, this swap is for US/Canada only and will be limited to 50 participants.

9) You must post your package details to the group blog (you can post on your own blog, too, but thanking your spoiler on the group blog is required!)

General Swap Etiquette.

I am finalizing the categories and the questionnaire now and will open signups on January 7. Signups will run until Jan 27 at midnight EST. Matches will be distributed by February 3 and packages must be received by your partner by March 7.

Happy New Year and Happy Swapping!
