Buy Yarn & Help Provide Mammograms!

I hope this is an appropriate posting, I don't want to offend anyone. I just found this yarn on sale at the Breast Cancer Site Store. It's $14.80 US for 3 skeins of recycled silk yarn. It's on clearance so I'm not sure how much is left. The best part is that any purchase you make helps fund free mammograms! I'm sure most of us know someone who has been affected by Breast Cancer. This would be a super cool gift to add into your swap package (T is for Save the TaTa's?)

That is a great deal for that yarn. It is also for a very good cause. However it is very challenging to knit with. I purchased a ton of it a few years ago. It is not soft on the skin. It breaks when you try to wind it and knit with it. I had a hard time with it. So, your kinda limited on what you could make it with it. Which left me very disappointed since the colores were so vibrant and beautiful.

I love your "T" - I haven't used it, but if it is difficult, try a bulky pattern and run a stronger solid color along with it - happy knitting

I've tried quite a few things actually working with this yarn. There are 2 brands that have some patterns.. on their sites. I have not checked back in over a year since I gave up on working with it. I tried a shrug. My own pattern. I wrote specific for the yarn. Since, other things were not working out. I wrote in Stst with a garter border to control the rolling in the fabric. Well, it still rolled. I think I might go find that wip and blog about it. I may get the rest and try to sell it on raverly to get it out of my stash. I had never came across a yarn that I could not knit with...Until Sari Silk recycled came along lol. I am always up for trying out a new yarn. I got in over my head on that one 17.00 a skein and I have probably 6 of them. All in beautiful jewel tones. So, if anyone is interested in the yarn please let me know :) check me out on ravelry. I will try to post it tomorrow.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale of this silk sari yarn! I have always wanted to make the Unbiased bag on knitty.com and 3 skeins looks like just the right amount. The pattern for the bag is here:

The Unbiased bag is fun to make with this yarn. Since the yarn doesn't come in dye lots, I knit it alternating the two balls of yarn I had (two rows from one, two from the other). I read the idea online somewhere and would recommend it for anyone making the bag.
