Mailing Chocolate?

I thought this would be a good place to ask. I always wonder about mailing chocolate. I worry about it melting. Has anyone tried mailing chocolate to swap pal? Does it melt? Are there any chocolate goodies unlikely to melt?

Thanks,
Sally

I think the melting is normally only an issue in spring/summer. I have mailed chocolate in several packages without a problem. If you are concerned it could be too warm at your location or your destination, you could put the chocolate in a Ziplock baggie so that if it does melt, it doesn't hurt anything else in the package.

I always mail chocolate ('cause of course, what's life without chocolate?) and haven't ever had a problem--but the ziploc is a great idea--

You could always just eat the chocolate yourself, to prevent a mishap :)

I've both sent and received chocolate in swaps without any problems. In warm seasons, I pop chocolate in the fridge when I receive it.
